Based in London, the new director will be tasked with implementing Pacnet’s channel strategy in Europe, aiming to accelerate channel recruitment, sales and ensuring partners are able to leverage Pacnet’s full suite of managed data and network solutions.
Armenakas’ new role coincides with Pacnet, a provider of integrated and full-service network and data solutions in the Asia Pacific region, striving to consolidate its partnership with manufacturer and producers, also known as channel partners, throughout the European region.
Cardi Prinzi, president of enterprise markets at Pacnet, felt Armenakas’ experience of 20 years’ experience in channel and direct sales management, working for Reliance Globalcom and Singtel Optus, made his selection for the role an easy choice.
"This is a very exciting time to add someone with John’s expertise to Pacnet as the company focuses on its enterprise customers and the higher value managed services they need to compete in Asia Pacific,” said Prinzi.
“The Asia Pacific region has seen explosive growth in data traffic mainly driven by the unstoppable rise of mobile usage and internet populations. Expansion into Asia, particularly into China and India, is becoming a bigger priority for European companies.”
Pacnet has recently disclosed plans to build a Singapore data centre, as well as in China, Hong Kong and Sydney and the new director felt it was a great time to be involved with the solutions provider.
“There is an immense opportunity for Pacnet to develop its ties to European enterprises as they embrace solutions that can accelerate the growth efficiency of their Asia Pacific business,” said Armenakas.
“European enterprises and cloud-based service providers will enhance their ability to meet growth objectives by leveraging Pacnet’s unrivalled infrastructure in the region.”
