Alcatel-Lucent’s 4G/LTE technology is designed to enable faster downloads speeds for nTelos customers, as well as support high-speed applications.

“By enabling the launch of 4G LTE service in select markets while upgrading the 3G CDMA experience for all of our customers, Alcatel-Lucent will allow us to fulfill those expectations both now and into the future.”
Nearly 200 nTelos CDMA 3G base stations will reportedly be replaced with Alcatel-Lucent’s CDMA 3G base stations, with the intention of providing higher speed wireless to areas where it has previously been less accessible.

nTelos Wireless operates in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky and North Carolina, and expects to launch the services before the end of 2013.
Alcatel-Lucent’s solutions wre recently employed in a partnership with NTT Communications earlier this month, to improve the operator’s VPN services.
