The 12 successful applicants will submit detailed proposals of their plans to the government committee which will select the winning bids by June 3. Two applicants granted licences will be notified on June 27 this year.
Among those selected by the committee are Digicel, Qatar Telecom and a partnership between Vodafone and China Mobile. For a full list of bidders, see below.
The Myanmar government has been encouraging mobile operators to bid for the two licences, which will allow the successful bidders to own, manage and operate a network in the country for 15 years.
