The operator’s network is said to have doubled the speed of its last 4G service, achieving download speeds of up to 150Mbps. The network will be Called Mobile Broadband 150.
SingTel says the network is available in a host of outdoor locations nationwide and some popular indoor areas which include Jurong Point, Raffles City and Tampines Mall.
Johan Buse, SingTel’s VP of consumer marketing, said: “SingTel continuously invests in its network to offer customers the fastest and most reliable mobile broadband experience.
“We are excited to be the first to launch the next-generation of 4G services in Singapore. With speeds of up to 150Mbps, customers will enjoy an unrivalled experience for multimedia content, web surfing, games and file downloads on the move,” he added.
Buse also added that services would be available on smartphones and tablets within the coming months, when compatible handsets become available in Singapore.
SingTel has also said it is working “closely with building owners and property developers” to implement its network in as many buildings as possible.
