Lumos selected Miller to utilise his experience in the design and deployment of a national core fibre network.
Miller is a telecoms veteran, having gained 20 years’ experience working for Adelphia Communications and TelCove.
Prior to TelCove’s acquisition by Level 3 Communications in 2006, Miller was involved in the operator’s business strategy and deploying its national fibre network. He has also spent seven years as an accountant at Ernst & Young.
Lumos Networks CEO, Timothy Blitz, said: “Miller brings exactly the type of background that we need to accelerate Lumos’ transition into a data centric fibre-based company.
“He brings extensive financial analysis and operational experience to the table, including management of capital efficiency,” he added.
Blitz also said Miller is expected to play a “major role” in the company’s fibre network strategies in Richmond, Virginia and western Pennsylvania.
