The METRO2C Alliance is a carrier-neutral association, created to simplify and reduce the risk of complex service level agreements (SLAs) for carriers and large enterprises.
The alliance is designed to combine service providers with a dense fibre footprint, and wide product choice, under a single, industry-leading SLA.
“Connectivity, data centre and internet exchange services are critical elements of the internet and aligning them seamlessly is at the core of the METRO2C strategy,” said Diane Hodnett, CEO at SFN.
“This strategic Alliance demonstrates SFN’s commitment to carrier-neutrality, further minimising dependency on single operators and ensuring the customer is always at the forefront of choosing the best-suited solution design.”
In a statement, SFN highlighted the critical importance of submarine network infrastructure for global business connectivity, and hopes the METRO2C Alliance to unite terrestrial and submarine networks, enabling members to tap into new markets.
“Over the next couple of months we will be pleased to announce the first members f the METRO2C Alliance that service Europe’s booming business and internet hubs,” Hodnett said.
In February this year, SFN expanded its C-Fibre portfolio from its Dublin to Frankfurt route via London.
