The India Bangalore 2 Data Centre will be situated in Electronics City, Bangalore, and Netmagic, subsidiary of NTT Communications, hopes it to address the supply constraints it has identified in the country.
The launch adds to NTT Communications’ global data centre footprint, with over 140 operating worldwide, and is said to be the first data centre in India to benefit from the combined expertise of NTT Communications and Netmagic.
“A data centre is engineered from the ground up to ensure the highest levels of security, fully redundant systems with secondary and even tertiary backup systems, massive cooling systems and onsite electricity generation,” said Sharad Sanghi, CEO at Netmagic Solutions.
“It is therefore important to have an IT Infrastructure partner (NTT Communications) who can understand the criticality of your data and has the experience and competence to support customers accordingly 24/7.”
The data centre is expected to cover 100,000 square feet, delivering a range of services, including co-location, dedicated hosting, security and cloud computing services, to large IT companies in the region.
Netmagic operates seven data centres across India with over 700 members of staff, and the company is already accepting orders for its managed hosting and co-location services in the India Bangalore 2 Data Centre.
Earlier this year, NTT Communications opened what it claimed to be the largest data centre in Tokyo, Japan.
