Vip was one of three successful bidders in the auction, with Macedonia’s two other incumbent mobile operators, T-Mobile and ONE, also reported to acquire spectrum.
Hannes Ametsreiter, CEO of Telekom Austria Group, said: “The provision of 4G/LTE services is an important step for the ongoing further development of our markets. This allows us to offer our customers the latest technologies and meet all multimedia requirements.”
This latest move with its Macedonian subsidiary follows Telekom’s acquisition of three cable network providers in Croatia last month.
