The initial launch will cover customers in London, with plans to roll out the service to a further 12 cities, including Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield, by the year end.
Vodafone invested £900 million in the network and has signed partnerships with Sky Sports and music service Spotify to enhance the 4G customer experience.
The news comes mere weeks after O2 announced its launch date for 4G services; both of which now fall on the same day.
Three is also expected to announce a date for rolling out the service, and earlier this year claimed it would not increase its prices for 4G.
