An anonymous analyst told local reporters that as Vodafone India had no 4G airwaves, "it made sense for it to spruce up its 2G and 3G data networks, to brace up to the challenge from Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio Infocomm”.
Reliance Jio Infocomm started rolling out its 4G LTE network in the country in July this year.
