The network consists of three fibre loops and is designed to deliver speeds of up to 10Gbps to data centres and the majority of business centres in the area.
Jérôme Boillot, country manager of BT France, said: “Our Paris network opens a new chapter in BT’s development in France and will considerably improve our ability to serve our local customers. They will benefit from excellent connectivity at competitive prices and gain improved access to our market-leading portfolio of networked IT services.”
Customers in the area are expected to benefit from a cost-effective, multiservice connection, which provides access to the BT Connect portfolio, such as Ethernet, MPLS and IP VPN services.
These services will be available 24/7 with service level agreements. BT will manage the network, equipment and connections, according to a statement on BT’s website.
“This is another step for BT France to become the network service provider of choice for global multinationals with operations in Paris and French multinationals headquartered here,” Boillot said.
BT operates CFN services in 24 cities in six European countries – Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain – as well as two cities in Latin America.
French operator SFR launched its LTE services in Paris earlier this year.
