Ericsson’s technology is designed to broaden Telstra’s network across Australia and meet the growing demand for mobile broadband.
The DSC will ease the pressure of increased signalling on Telstra’s network, as well as boost operational efficiency and reliability.
“Networks are evolving from narrowband signalling to diameter signalling, and we are leading the adoption of this new signalling architecture,” said David Robertson, director transport and routing engineering at Telstra.
“DSC provides a more resilient mobile broadband network. We are deploying this technology to ensure we are ahead of the curve with growth in traffic complexity, while delivering superior network performance to our customers."
As operators worldwide continue the deployment of LTE, the need for signalling control increases dramatically and Telstra’s selection of the DSC shows the company’s dedication to evolving these networks.

In August this year, Telstra and Ericsson reported a successful LTE-A trial in Queensland, Australia.
