The first of the four, located in Ashburn, Virginia, in the US, has now launched and the remaining three – in Melbourne (Australia), London, (UK) and São Paulo (Brazil) – are due to be operational by January 2014.
The additions bring Dimension Data’s managed cloud platform (MCP) presence to 11 locations worldwide and the company expects them to address the growing demand for high-quality cloud services.
Existing Dimension Data MCP locations include San Jose and Ashburn (US), Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Sydney (Australia), Johannesburg, (South Africa), Tokyo (Japan) and Hong Kong.
“The addition of these four key MCP locations adds capacity to the US, Australia and Europe, where our client base is growing rapidly and requires multiple cloud data centres to support business continuity, backup and replication within the region,” said Steve Nola, CEO at Dimension Data’s cloud business unit.
“São Paulo, as Dimension Data’s first MCP in South America, will create availability for global enterprises to locate data in this region.”
Dimension Data’s MCPs deliver IaaS and managed hosting services, as well as low-latency access to both public and private secure cloud services.
In June this year, Dimension Data partnered with Jersey and Guernsey-based JT Group for the delivery of its cloud-based services.
