During the first phase, ZTE will deploy the LTE network in Chennai, Rest of Tamil Nadu (RoTN) circle and a number of other important regions.
The Aircel said it has been updating its network to address rising demand for data fuelled by the growth of internet enabled devices.
The operator will be able to offer download speeds of over 65 Mbps, giving its enterprise and retail business a boost.

ZTE and Aircel’s partnership goes back to 2008, when ZTE supported Aircel’s 2G and 3G roll-out in the north of the country.

This announcement follows ZTE’s recent deal with China Telecom to provide evolved packet core (EPC) equipment for its LTE network across 15 Chinese provinces.
