The solution is designed to provide the carrier with an internationally recognised interconnect billing solution.
The move follows BIGL being awarded a new International Gateway (IGW) operating licence last year.
As a condition of the licence award, the Bangladeshi regulator, the BTRC, imposed a number of requirements, including accredited audit control and the requirement to supply the BTRC with data in order to define tax payments. The solution is believed to help BIGL deliver on these conditions.
“Following the proliferation of new IGW licences in Bangladesh, new market entrants need the total revenue assurance of a first-class billing system in order to create a sustainable business,” said Gavin Stewart, head of international sales and marketing at i-conX.
“BIGL comes to the market with significant backing and rich telco heritage, and we are excited to work with them as they realise their goal of leading the Bangladeshi IGW market.”
