The 99.9999% – or six nines – rating covers CoreSite’s platform of data centre facilities, and the high availability means unscheduled downtime is reduced to less than 32 seconds per year.
CoreSite’s uptime beats the industry benchmark of five nines availability, and Tom Ray, CEO at the company, said the figure reflects CoreSite’s position as an industry leader.
“Achieving six nines availability for the third consecutive year – including 100% availability through Hurricane Sandy in 2012 – is a testament to the quality and dependability of those services and our people.” Ray said.
“Importantly, the reliability of our data centres underscores the high standards and rigorous training we commit to in providing secure and high-performance solutions to enterprises, networks and clouds as they work together in CoreSite facilities to power and support the information, communication and technology needs of the world’s most demanding customers,” he added.
In May last year, 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network extended its dark fibre backbone into CoreSite’s DC1 facility in Washington DC.
