The London MCP will provide UK and global organisations with access to secure cloud services with 99.99% availability service level agreements (SLAs), as well as 24/7 phone support and integrated management capabilities.
“For CIOs, the location of their cloud data centres is becoming increasingly important, particularly as they look to place more significant and demanding enterprise applications in the cloud,” said Andy Lancaster, director of cloud services at Dimension Data.
“Businesses that are looking for a cloud data centre that is a little closer to home need to ensure that they select a provider that can also guarantee a high-performing, high-security cloud with low latency, that offers a standardised service across geographies in the event of failover or crisis,” he added.
Dimension Data expects to launch an MCP in São Paulo, Brazil in the second quarter of this year.
The provider has also named Tina Gravel as the new GM of its Americas cloud services business. Previously, Gravel spent at 13 years at Terremark, where she was a member of the original executive management team.
Earlier this month, Dimension Data acquired French IT firm NextiraOne for an undisclosed fee, as part of a plan to double the company’s annual revenue by 2018.
