The options which are under evaluation include entering a strategic partnership, divesting Tele2 Norway to one or several parties, or continuing to grow the business organically within the Tele2 Group, the operator said in a statement.
“We are evaluating our different opportunities for our Norwegian businesses. Exploring various strategic options is an on-going part of our responsibility towards our shareholders, said Mats Granryd, CEO and president of Tele2. “However, we cannot speculate on the potential outcomes of any such discussions”.
In early February it was reported that Tele2 was in talks with holding company Access Industries over the acquisition of its 4G spectrum.
The holding company, which is owned by billionaire Len Blavatnik, won airwaves in the 800, 900 and 1800MHz bands.
