The agreement is designed to enable MNO customers of both iBasis and DT ICSS to deliver high-quality LTE roaming services to their subscribers.
"We see an increased demand for LTE roaming from our mobile customers," said Holger Magnussen, SVP of ICSS at Deutsche Telekom. "Through our ICSS IPX platform we can easily fulfil our customer demand across all borders and extend our reach through co-operations with iBasis and other partners."
Based on their existing GRX peering agreement – as well as each company's IP eXchange – today's agreement will help to meet the growing demand for LTE roaming services as the IPX ecosystem expands worldwide.
"We are rapidly expanding our LTE roaming footprint through both direct LTE roaming agreements with mobile operators and through peering with leading providers like Deutsche Telekom, which helps our mobile operator customers offer a more complete global roaming experience for their LTE subscribers," said Willem Offerhaus, CEO at iBasis.
"We are very pleased to partner with Deutsche Telekom ICSS to continue to fulfil the promise of LTE globally," he added.
At Capacity Middle East in Dubai earlier this month, Etisalat also announced an LTE roaming peering agreement with iBasis.
