The move will see Tata deliver six live feeds and an additional unilateral feed from all 19 races during the Formula 1 season, distributed via its global fibre network for broadcast on Chello DMC’s Sport1 channels and app.
Tata signed a partnership with Formula 1 to become the sole connectivity partner for the brand in February 2012.
With consumers demanding more live, high-quality content across different platforms, carriers and broadcasters alike are increasingly turning to fibre to meet the large bandwidth requirements of live events.
“By delivering the highest quality video feeds over our wholly-owned fibre network, we are able to offer clients of Formula One Management, such as Chello DMC, enhanced experiences,” said Rangu Salgame, CEO, Growth Ventures, Tata Communications.
