24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network expands fibre footprint with Global Capacity

24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network has revealed a wholesale services partnership with network connectivity provider Global Capacity.

The deal will see the fibre-optic network operator utilise Global Capacity’s One Marketplace Ethernet services to expand its regional fibre footprint in the US.

“With Global Capacity’s One Marketplace, 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network is able to expand our coverage and better respond to customers with a services portfolio scalable down to 10Mg services,” said Sean Baillie, president at 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network.

“The automated design, pricing and ordering offered by One Marketplace allows us to manage operational costs and streamline service delivery as we expand our core dark fibre and co-location offerings to include high-performance, lit Ethernet services.”

24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network will interconnect to Global Capacity’s One Marketplace PoP in Ashburn, VA which will allow access to a range of solutions to extend its network reach.

Over the same interconnect, Global Capacity will benefit from access to high-bandwidth Ethernet services from 24/7’s 800-mile fibre footprint.

“This mutually beneficial agreement supplies Global Capacity with high-speed Ethernet services across high-demand markets, while 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network benefits from Global Capacity’s cost-competitive rates and connectivity to over three million commercial Ethernet addresses,” said Ben Edmond, chief revenue officer at Global Capacity.

In March 2014, Global Capacity announced an expansion of its network reach to the UK.
