Through the partnership, European customers will use the operator’s network and data centres on a business and consumer level wherever they are based.
Portugal Telecom is embarking on a strategy based on converging and mainstreaming infrastructure, security, technical support and management services through cloud and international data centres.
“This agreement with Altran formalises an important partnership, which will ensure competitiveness on a world scale, in terms of addressing different markets with information and communication technologies,” said Miguel Moreira, CEO of Portugal Telecom’s cloud unit.
Portugal Telecom added that it aims to expand its global positioning and is looking to utilise its network to establish an international presence.
The company also offers SaaS, PaaS and IaaS services.
