The facility is designed to showcase a full range of innovative HD services, including conferencing and collaboration solutions, to be available on multiple devices including telepresence rooms, conferencing terminals, tables and smartphones.
PCCW Global claims it is one of the world’s first service providers to offer point-to-point private network video calling services for HD communication.
It runs as a cloud-based platform and offers service providers and multinational enterprises deployment of high-quality video collaboration.
“Huawei has been an important technology and business partner for us,” said Marc Halbfinger, CEO at PCCW Global. “We are excited to explore new innovations in the video collaboration field together and to help our customers cost-effectively maximise the impact of HD video.”
Huawei’s VP for core network product line, Mao Yumin, said the new facility is a key milestone for carriers and enterprises to leverage the opportunities of HDVC.
“This offers a global reach whatever the device and whatever the access,” she said. “Huawei is extremely honoured to partner with PCCW Global for this project.”
