Vuetel will use SDH, Ethernet, IP, VoIP and co-location services from Epsilon to connect its customers in over 10 African countries.
It has PoPs in Epsilon’s global hubs in London and in Paris Equinix, giving access to over 500 pre-connected network operators.
Vuetel Italia offers carrier services connecting Italy to Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Angola. It has network operations centres (NOCs) in Perugia, Tunisia, Benin and Burkina Faso
“The rapid growth of the telecoms sector in Africa has meant more international operators need efficient access to local connectivity,” said Clint Collins, regional director, carrier business MEA at Epsilon. “That is why we have focussed on developing our relationships in a diverse set of African markets and have been able to help Vuetel to grow its business and connect more customers across the continent. Our outsourcing model perfectly matches the needs of the African market.”
Epsilon has interconnection agreements on the WACS cable and on SEACOM on the east coast.
Vuetel said it plans to launch retail services in the Middle East and Africa with local partners and serve existing retail customers with its international infrastructure.
