The company is said to have deployed nearly 5,500 route miles across the state, connecting over 600 cell towers. It will go on to connect new data centres – including Fibertown in Bryan – to its DASH (Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston) network this month.
The company has also commenced with the first phase of a 1,800 mile layer-one high-speed transport circuit connecting Midland, Odessa, Abilene, San Angelo, Ozona, Fort Stockton, Monahans, Lubbock, Amarillo and Wichita Falls, which will be completed later this year.
“Many of the cities and towns that we are working in are eager to benefit from the services that our network will bring to their communities,” said Paul Pierron, FiberLight’s CEO.
In January, FiberLight completed a redundant fibre-optic network for the London Internet Exchange (LINX) in the US, within the Northern Virginia metropolitan market.
