The carrier is looking to extend coverage across the south of the UK, with cities including Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Reading, Southampton and Basingstoke targeted for the expansion.
The development will cover up to one million people and approximately 35,000 businesses, and the upgrade comes a year after Vodafone turned on its LTE network in the UK’s major cities, including London.
Vodafone reportedly has 640,000 4G users, the equivalent of 2% of its total mobile base. However, it still lags behind rivals EE and O2, which both have over a million 4G users.
