Zain hopes NSN’s solution will enable it to become more customer-centric, as well as streamline its operations.
NSN will also implement its IP fault management platform, EMCSmarts, and in a statement, the two companies said that the partnership allows Zain to “simplify network operations by having a total network view with centralised operations”.
Omar Al Omar, CEO at Zain Kuwait, said that its top priority was ensuring Zain Kuwait customers get the highest quality across the operator’s network and services.
“To achieve this, we saw the need to evolve our daily operations from a network-centric approach to a customer-centric one by transforming our network operations centre (NOC) with the most advanced OSS solutions available,” Al Omar said.
NSN’s solution will be deployed as a foundation for Zain’s evolution, and includes the vendor’s Performance Manager solution, designed to act as a single point of access for network performance insight.
Mohamad Diab, head of Zain Kuwait customer team, networks, Nokia, said that it is important for Zain to keep abreast of customers’ changing expectations and constantly improve service experience as a result.
“What’s equally important is to invest in technology that’s not only cost-efficient but also enables operational efficiency and simplification,” Diab said.
“Our OSS umbrella management solution will reduce maintenance costs and increase the efficiency of network operations for Zain Kuwait, paving the way for further improvements in its customers’ experience and satisfaction,” he added.
In February this year, NSN partnered with China’s Huawei to improve the interoperability of their OSS interfaces for operators.
