Movistar was the first operator to launch LTE services in Peru in January this year, and the extension brings its total 4G footprint to 31 districts across the country.
The operator is also reportedly targeting total coverage of the Lima district, as well as areas of Chiclayo and Piura.
To date, Movistar has approximately 90,000 LTE subscribers in the country, and intends to invest $400 million in its 4G network over the next five years.
In February, South American operator Entel signed an agreement with Chinese vendor Huawei for the roll-out of a 4G network in Peru.
