The collaboration is designed to create joint propositions for customers and promote the growth of M2M in India.
Cyan said its wireless mesh networking platform is designed to offer a cost-effective extension of Vodafone’s network for high volume and low value last-mile data connections to its utility end customers.
“Our focus is to supply smart metering solutions to enable utilities to reduce the transmission and distribution losses and protect revenues,” said John Cronin. “We are pleased to announce this partnership and that our CyLec platform will be installed in Vodafone’s customer experience centre in Mumbai to demonstrate its capability in providing metering solutions.”
The companies added that the move is another step towards offering sustainable solutions to the Indian power sector.
Vodafone is investing significantly in its M2M offering and announced a deal to acquire Italian automotive company Cobra earlier this month.
