Schofield has spent the last six months preparing for the role, working alongside ICPC staff and the executive committee. He replaces Graham Marle, who has served as GM for the past 16 years.
Schofield brings more than 32 years’ experience of the subsea cable market to the role, having worked on numerous cable projects, as well as provided consultancy support for organisations.
“The ICPC is a diverse and effective organisation, uniting those in the international submarine cable community wishing to share the seabed in harmony with others. I look forward to developing its international profile while working to increase and diversify membership,” said Schofield.
Schofield is also chair of the UK non-profit NGO, Hope for Children.
