Canada’s telecoms market is mainly dominated by the country’s larger operators, including Bell Canada, Rogers Communications and Telus.
The auction of “AWS-3 spectrum” will have restrictions, allowing smaller players to make bids for a certain part of it in regions where they operate.
The auction will take place ahead of an offering of 2500MHz frequencies in April 2015, but reports state that AWS-3 will be more valuable as it functions in urban and rural areas of the country.
