The move is designed to allow Algérie Télécom subscribers better data services, and under the terms of the deal, Nokia Networks Global Services will provide network implementation to ensure a smooth deployment of the IP/MPLS solution in partnership with Juniper Networks.
“This project underlines our resolve to deliver a truly differentiated customer experience to our subscribers,” said Azouaou Mehmel, president and CEO of Algérie Télécom Group. “We have complete faith in Nokia Networks’ capability to deliver on our vision due to its technical knowledge and extensive experience in similar implementations. Nokia Networks is a natural choice for this initiative that will strengthen our position as the operator of choice for Algerian subscribers.”
Nokia will also provide network planning, optimisation and systems integration to ensure that the operator’s network can deliver the necessary throughput, latency and resiliency for the highest quality of service.
Nokia has a longstanding partnership with Juniper Networks, and it will utilise the company’s solution to save on operating costs and provide Algérie Télécom with end-to-end transport services more efficiently and securely.
Nokia’s five-year contract with Algérie Télécom includes hardware solutions, software and competence development services to protect the operator’s capital investment.
“Following our recent LTE contract with Algérie Télécom, this is another important step in our longstanding partnership with the operator,” said Igor Leprince, SVP and head of Middle East and Africa, Nokia Networks.
