According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Vodafone accounted for 34% of the market’s 4.77 million additions, and the country now has pushed its mobile penetration to above 73.5%.
Vodafone now has 169.9 million customers, while Bharti has 209.2 million connections after adding 1.01 million customers in June.
Bharti is looking to gain more subscribers after consolidating in the market to acquire Loop Mobile, after securing the deal in June.
India as whole added 4.77 million mobile connections, with former incumbent BSNL seeing the most customer losses.
The company lost approximately 2.14 million customers, reducing its market share to 9.785%.
