According to the New York Post, AT&T – the US’ second-largest mobile player – has agreed to concessions set by the justice department to gain approval for the deal.
Reports suggest that the DoJ issued a request for information six weeks ago, and will sign off the deal in the next few months. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has still not ruled on the merger.
AT&T will add over 20 million DirecTV subscribers to its 5.7 million U-Verse TV customers, which presently span across 22 states.
