The development will be centred in the state’s technology hub in the greater metro Atlanta area, and the project will provide customers with access to Level 3’s enhanced network capabilities and portfolio of data, security, video, voice and unified communications.
When the project is completed, Level 3 will have over 300 on-net buildings and approximately 265 metro route miles in the greater Atlanta area, connecting hundreds of buildings directly to the network.
“As the fastest-growing city in the US, Alpharetta has become the technology city of the South, with serious needs for network infrastructure and access,” said Peter Tokar, economic development director for the City of Alpharetta.
“Level 3’s expanded network and presence in the market will provide increased access and options for secure global network connectivity – something all of the 600+ companies here need, with demands increasing daily,” he added.
Level 3 said the expansion will provide greater route diversity and increased capacity across the market, with a specific focus on enterprises.
