Côté-O'Hara is retiring after 17 years at the company – and 30 years in the telecoms and technology industry – and Fraser joins the board with extensive experience from firms including Ivey School of Business, Proctor & Gamble and Economical Insurance Group.
“Ms Fraser is an innovative leader in consumer marketing and we are excited to welcome her to the company’s board of directors,” said David Leith, chair of the board at Manitoba Telecom.
“We believe her strong experience, especially in marketing and business strategy will enhance our board’s breadth of skills and expertise and will be extremely valuable to the company in achieving its strategic and financial goals.”
The addition to the board maintains the number of directors at 11, with four of those being women.
Last month, the company’s CEO, Pierre Blouin, retired from his position but is remaining at the firm until a successor is found.
