The 2014 event has 425 different companies in attendance, compared to 335 last year, and has representation from 75 countries worldwide.
Overall attendance at Capacity Europe 2014 has shown a 22% increase on last year’s figures, with 1,285 registered attendees, and the event itself is sporting some upgrades – including a network security roundtable with top forensic analysts in cybersecurity.
The day kicked off with a keynote speech from David Rowan, editor at Wired magazine, who said that by 2024, networks would have an “emotional understanding”; and the rest of the event looks set to continue in a similarly innovative fashion.
Day two is set to focus on mobile and cloud computing with input from the likes of Microsoft and Vodafone Carrier Services, and the last day will concentrate on emerging markets, featuring comment from Telecom Italia Sparkle, BT and Telefónica Global Solutions amongst others.
Capacity’s Global Carrier Awards 2014 will be held tomorrow evening, and will be opened by broadcaster, traveller and adventurer Ben Fogle.
