Traditionally a Layer 2 provider, the wholesale network solutions company is now working on lighting more dark fibre between Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam and Paris, following the success of its London-Amsterdam offering.
“Adding long-haul waves to our network infrastructure is an exciting addition to our Layer 1 offering, and I’m extremely proud of the team and everyone’s combined efforts to move IX Reach fully in to the next wholesale Layer of network services,” said Steve Wilcox, founder and technical director at IX Reach.
IX Reach and Netflix were named the first two customers of AMS-IX New York earlier this year, and in December 2013, IX Reach enabled the London Internet Exchange (LINX) to become the first reseller of its services to connect at 100GbE speeds.
