Megaport will deliver its standard 10Gbps ports in New Zealand to Vibe Communications, which has just launched its IntelliPath solution.
The solution is fully integrated with Megaport, and allows customers to provision and manage services in near real-time from any one of the seven main data centres in Auckland to any Megaport location or customer in New Zealand and Australia.
“Seamless interconnectivity from Auckland into data centres in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne bridges the divide between businesses operating in both markets,” Denver Maddux, newly appointed CEO at Megaport.
“As part of our own innovation strategy to grow and expand, we are now empowering New Zealand customers with access to multiple clouds and networks so they can connect with anyone, in any location.”
Vibe Communications is also expanding its metro network to Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch, and the launch of a further three data centres in Auckland in Q1 2015 will extend Megaport’s reach in New Zealand even further.
“One of the major inhibitors to mass cloud services adoption in New Zealand is the time, cost and complexity of deploying connectivity between key locations at which content and service providers are aggregated. IntelliPath will allow customers to choose the capacity and duration of services dynamically,” said Rudi Hefer, CCO at Vibe Communications.
“That, coupled with the reach and continued growth of the Megaport and IntelliPath footprints, breaks down those barriers.”
In late October, Megaport revealed plans to spin off its fibre assets and expand into Asia, Europe and North America.
