The Markley Group facility is one of the largest and longest-operating multi-tenant telecoms and data centre units in the New England region, and NTT Com hopes the PoP will enable it to provide enhanced services to ISPs, content-orientated companies, hosting and CDN providers.
Customers of the Markley Group facility will in turn benefit from a direct link to NTT Com’s global IP network and increased global connectivity options.
“We are thrilled to extend our footprint with Markley in the New England region to serve a broader community of internet-centric business and organisations,” said Michael Wheeler, EVP of NTT Com’s global IP network at NTT America.
“We chose Markley because One Summer Street provides a centralised location, exceptional performance and reliability that are an excellent match to NTT Com’s fully redundant Tier-1 IP backbone.”
The Markley Group facility is a 920,000 square foot, carrier-neutral data centre with connectivity to more than 80 domestic and international network providers and utility feeds from a network grid system.
“One Summer Street is a world-class facility with cutting-edge infrastructure that offers NTT Com the opportunity to expand its presence with the industry leading reliability and performance its customers expect,” said Patrick Gilmore, CTO at Markley Group.
“We are excited that NTT Com chose Markley as a PoP for its global IP network as our customers will benefit from increased global connectivity options.”
