Mangale leaves his role as managing director of Cisco’s South African operation for the position, and replaces Kanagaratnam "Lambo" Lambotharan who is leaving MTN to pursue interests outside of the business.
“We are pleased to have someone of Mangale’s calibre in our management team and we are confident that his wealth of expertise and global exposure will stand MTN Business in good stead,” said Ahmed Farroukh, CEO at MTN South Africa.
Mangale has 18 years’ experience in the ICT, enterprises and public sector industries across the EMEA region, 15 of which were spent at Dimension Data, where he led the group’s transformation strategy.
In August this year, MTN South Africa said that it was planning to cut its workforce by 14% following increased competition in the region.
