EE claims the figure is a record in Europe, and brings its total 4G customer base to 7.7 million.
It follows a year of significant network expansion, with EE adding 210 towns across the UK to its network.
Its performance in 2014 will be welcome news to BT, which has entered in to exclusive talks to acquire the operator for £12.5 billion.
