The platform provides the international arm of Telecom Italia with access to 450 cloud providers. It will initially be deployed in Frankfurt, Washington and Singapore with a roll-out to all 17 Equinix Cloud Exchange markets around the world in 2015.
Through Equinix Cloud Exchange, TI Sparkle is said to be able to cater to the demands of corporate customers and service providers that require access to cloud ecosystems, IT infrastructure and software platforms, and private IP access.
“By joining Equinix’s Cloud Exchange, TI Sparkle’s customers can now have on-demand direct access to multiple cloud providers simultaneously, and other companies in the ecosystem can take advantage of TI Sparkle’s advanced connectivity offering,” said Chris Sharp, VP of cloud innovation at Equinix.
TI Sparkle will include its cloud services portfolio within the Equinix Cloud Exchange platform in the coming months, and is also planning to introduce on-demand, pay-as-you-go advanced connectivity services.
