The two telcos have signed four-year international service agreements with Telecom Egypt; providing them with wholesale access to the Egyptian operator’s international gateway services and meaning they do not have to acquire their own international gateway licences.
Telecom Egypt has also signed three and five year domestic infrastructure service deals with Vodafone and Mobinil, respectively.
The deals will help Mobinil and Vodafone to offer fixed services in the country, and allow Telecom Egypt to further secure its position as a market leader.
“Telecom Egypt remains committed to its key objective of becoming a total telecom operator offering fixed and mobile voice and data services to the Egyptian market,” said Mohamed Elnawawy, managing director and CEO at the company.
"As soon as we are granted the long awaited mobile license, we will be best placed to continue to increase shareholder wealth and levels of customer satisfaction by providing a wide range of high quality and advanced services.”
