The move will enable Zayo to offer multiple connectivity options from Dublin directly to the UK. It also plans to link the Irish capital to other European connectivity hubs such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris.
The development is said to support customer demand for access to data centre operators and content providers with operations in Ireland. Zayo has already connected Interxion’s Dublin facility to its network as part of the expansion.
“Continuing to expand and strengthen our European platform has been a key focus for Zayo,” said Alastair Kane, VP of Europe. “Expanding our services into Ireland allows us to support customers and connect to a growing content, hosting and data centre market.”
The project is expected to be completed in June 2015, with Manchester available by the end of February 2015.
