The agreement is an extension of an existing contract between the two firms, and will see VHA leverage Nokia Networks’ operations and maintenance services, as well as its remote network management.
“This initiative is in line with our commitment to provide the best-in-class service experience to our customers, even as we focus on evolving our infrastructure to address future capacity and coverage requirements,” said Benoit Hansen, CTO at VHA.
“Nokia Networks’ service capabilities provide us with a strong platform to do this, while we continue to execute on our extensive growth plans.”
The deal also includes an industry best-practice joint transformation project to enhance technology innovation and achieve cost-savings for both VHA and Nokia Networks for the duration of the contract.
“VHA’s decision to extend this contract underscores its faith in our managed services capabilities and testifies to its high satisfaction of our work,” said Ray Own, head of Australia and New Zealand at Nokia Networks.
“Leveraging on our knowledge base and the expertise of our global delivery centres, we will continue to improve VHA’s network quality and operational efficiency at reduced operational cost.”
In August last year, VHA selected Swedish vendor Ericsson to upgrade its core national network.
