The service offers local loops for point-to-point live video and a managed video and distribution network for long haul video delivery.
Video exchange points are reached via Zayo’s core video network with infrastructure in eight markets: Atlanta, Chicago, D.C., Denver, Houston, Portland, New York and London.
Zayo has established a dedicated team to oversee the service, and has the video network is managed by the company’s Video Network Control Centre located in Tulsa, Okla.
“Zayo’s long haul network and supporting infrastructure enables our customers to access hundreds of ‘on-net’ venues including stadiums, production and conference centres, hotels and casinos – making our service highly flexible and competitive,” said Walt Banfield, technology lead for Zayo’s Live Video. “Our deep fibre assets, combined with our new video technology and 24/7/365 monitoring, give customers unlimited broadcast and streaming video opportunities.”
The National Basketball Association (NBA) was one of the first customers to use Zayo’s video network to transport live broadcast and video feeds for all NBA games beginning with the 2014-15 NBA season.
