The move is aimed at expanding the Luxembourg operator’s presence in German speaking markets.
The PoPs have been established at e-shelter’s facilities in Frankfurt, Vienna and Zürich.
Through partnerships with DE-CIX and IX Reach, the facilities are said to offer direct connection to internet exchanges in London, Amsterdam and New York, which in turn connect with more than 20 other exchanges.
“Relevant for our decision was the excellent geographic presence and the Tier 3+ data centres in DACH region and the outperforming quality of the data centres,” said Vincent Nicolay, CEO of Telecom Luxembourg.
