The agreement will see Ooredoo Qatar interconnect with Orange’s LTE platform in order to support growing 4G roaming traffic generated by its mobile subscribers.
It also aims to deliver greater interoperability for VoIPX, SS7, GRX and LTE diameter services between the two companies’ respective networks and retail operations around the world.

Using Orange’s LTE platform reach will enable us to extend 4G roaming for Ooredoo mobile subscribers and to grow volumes and usage,” said Yousuf Abdulla Al-Kubaisi, CEO of Ooredoo Global Services (OGS).
It builds on an existing partnership between Orange and the Ooredoo Group for mobile services in Qatar, Oman, Tunisia, Algeria and Kuwait.
The two companies have also collaborated for many years on international voice traffic and combatting fraud. They are both also founding members of the Chicago agreement and members of the SEA-ME-WE5 consortium.
“Our IPX network and mobiles solution allows us to provide a unique reach to mobile operators across 2G, 3G and 4G with 1000 mobile networks available on SS7 and GRX, and over 220 mobile networks on LTE diameter.
