Singtel’s ConnectPlus Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) service is said to simplify and centralise network provisioning and policy management, and configure network requirements in real time.
The cloud-based solutions aims to help enterprises deal with an increasingly complex WAN environment that combines multiple private networks, such as IP VPN and public internet services.
“Singtel is empowering enterprises with the capability to adapt and programme their network operations based on their needs. Using a self-service portal, they can exercise dynamic control over network issues such as performance, bandwidth utilisation and security,” said Lee Han Kheng, VP of global products at Singtel Group Enterprise.
SingTel has partnered with WAN technology provider Viptela for the service, and both companies are said to be working with multiple Global 2000 enterprise customers in pilot deployments of the service. Singtel ConnectPlus IPVPN is said to offer 200 PoPs globally.
The move further highlights the considerable growth in SDN and NFV services being offered by carriers.
